BiographyGiuliano Berretta is the Commercial Director of EUTELSAT, the European organisation founded by a consortium of public and private telecommunications interests. Eutelsat manages a number of fixed and mobile satellites in Europe. Berretta joined Eutelsat as Commercial Director in September 1990. He is responsible for marketing, commercial development and relations with the public and media. |

| He was head of the mission and co-ordination office (MPCO) of the telecommunications direction of the European Space Agency (ESA) before joining Eutelsat. Until 1987 he worked in ESA's telecommunication programme in Paris and from 1971 to 1979 he was at the ESA Technical Centre (ESTEC) in the Netherlands. He had previously spent many years in Italian industry in the field of radio links and military and civil television transmissions. |  |
