Biography

Marc Luyckx was born in Louvain in Belgium on 20 April 1942. After studying mathematics and philosophy in Belgium, he studied in Italy, and was awarded a doctorate in Russian philosophy. He began his career at "Prospective", a future studies working group, then specialized in ongoing education both in Belgium and Recife in Brazil.

Since 1990 he has been senior researcher at the "Forward Studies Unit", the European Commission's central unit for futures studies.

His principal research interests are in the cultural, philosophical, ethical fields and the global political changes in our society.
