Biography
Vincenzo Maria Vita was born in Salerno 16 January 1952. He was a
member of the national secretariat of the PDUP (Proletarian Unity Party) until it merged
with the PCI (Italian Communist Party) at the end of 1984.
He was appointed spokesman on information for the PDS (Democratic Party
of the Left) after several years of interest in the field.
He has been involved in preparing a number of draft laws on
communication, particularly in the area of anti-trust legislation and broadcasting.
In the last general election he was elected to the House of Deputies
for the first time. In May 1996 he was nominated Under-Secretary at the Ministry of
Communications in the Prodi government, a nomination reconfirmed by the D'Alema
government.
He has worked as a journalist and writer, contributing to newspapers,
reviews and radio programmes. In 1983 he published Dopo i mass media, and more
recently L'inganno multimediale. |
