Biography

Born in Rome in 1945, Giorgio Prister graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1969. After many years as a researcher in Automatic Controls, in 1975 he began working for IBM where he held various roles, initially of a technical nature and later in sales, finance and marketing.

He has been responsible for the European local government market in IBM since 1996: evaluating markets and relative demand, defining and implementing business strategies, as well as developing specific product applications, particularly in the field of advanced community services.

Prister is particularly interested in the Internet, e-business technology, and tools such as Java and Lotus Notes, which are the basis of modern integrated applications for local government.
