Biography
Associate Professor of computer graphics, the architect Alessandro Polistina teaches
educational multimedia on the industrial design course of Milan Polytechnic. He has also
taught at the EPAU in Algeria and the Faculty of Architecture of Ferrara.
In 1981 he founded Aicographics (Associazione Italiana di Computer Graphics) and was
president until 1984. From 1995 to 1996 he was director of the Centre for Computer
Graphics and Multimedia Techniques of Milan Polytechnic.
He has carried out research and applications in the field of design (SMAU-INDUSTRIAL
DESIGN prize 1987), colour, and on-line 3D systems (VRML).
He is the author of graphic software, multimedia systems and interactive installations,
including Elective Affinities Triennale, an exhibition of Italian design at the Rufino
Tamayo Museum in Mexico city.
Polistina is an expert in social and hospital architecture. He is also interested in
digital media, virtual models and the theoretical and application problems of leisure. |
