Biography

Born in 1960, and a graduate in Political Economy from the Bocconi University of Milan, Diego Piacentini has worked for Apple since August 1987. He was appointed Vice President, Sales and General Manager of Apple Computer Europe in May 1997.

Piacentini, previously Managing Director of Apple Computer's Italian operation, is responsible for all of Apple's business operations throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

From 1993 he was responsible for Italian and European financial services. In May of the same year he was appointed head of the Business Unit and in 1994 he became Head of Sales. In May 1995 he was appointed director general and in September 1996 managing director. Before joining Apple, Mr Piacentini held a financial management position at Fiatimpresit in Italy.
