Biography

Charles E. Hoff is head of the international desk at CNN Atlantal. Until recently he was bureau chief at CNN International in London.. Before going to the UK, Hoff was head for three years chief of CNN's bureau in Jerusalem, where he reported on Middle Eastern affairs. Hoff was also director of Newsbeam, CNN's satellite news gathering sector in Atlanta.

Hoff has been with CNN since 1981, moving to Atlanta as head of national news and then transferring Chicago. He was news editor at KWTV in Oklahoma City. He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and studied journalism at the University of Oklahoma.
