Biography

Giancarlo Fornari is in charge of external communications and relations with taxpayers at the Ministry of Finance, where he set up and is responsible for the Internet site www.finanze.it which supplies information not only on current fiscal legislation in Italy, but also on the documents available to facilitate tax returns. He is also the co-ordinator of the teletext newsroom and of the updates of the data banks of the Taxpayer's Information Office. He was a member of the working group created by AIPA on the civil service's presence on the Internet and is a member of the civil service working group within the Prime Minister's Forum on the Information Society. He has been vice-president of the Ancc-Lega, Director of Crel (Centre for research on the economy of work) and President of Ianos (Institute for the analysis of social organisation), and advisor to Cnel. A law graduate, he is a professional journalist and author and editor of numerous publications in the field of public communication.
