Biography

Peter De Jager is a Canadian known worldwide for having drawn attention to the "millennium bug". He has been able to confront the ‘Year 2000 problem’ not only among the scientific community, but also with a wider public, using various means of communication, from television to radio and the press.
He has published numerous works on this problem, including Doomsday 2000 article, which appeared in ‘Computerworld’, 6 Sept. 1993. He is the author, with Richard Bergeon, of the book Managing 2000.

De Jager has created The Year 2000 Information Center, which is generally considered the main source of information on how to handle the problem and the Year 2000 mail list which allows more than 2000 people to discuss aspects of the problem.
He has acted as a consultant on the subject to numerous government and public bodies including the US House of Representatives Science sub-committee (1996), and the Canadian government (1998).
