Biography

Andrea Canevaro (1939) graduated in literature and philosophy and studied for some time at the Université Lyon 2, studying Special Pedagogy under Prof. Claude Kohler. He has worked as an educator in the field of juvenile delinquency. He taught Special Pedagogy in 1975 on the degree course in Pedagogy of the Faculty of Education of the "Università degli Studi" in Bologna, where in 1973 he was assistant lecturer and where he held the chair in Special Pedagogy as temporary professor from 1980 to 1983, and subsequently as full professor. In 1983 he was elected president of the degree course in Pedagogy; and from 1987 he held two three-year terms as Director of the Department of Education Science, at the same university. In November 1996 he was again nominated director of the Department of Education Science.

Prof. Canevaro has a wide range of research interests resulting in a large number of publications. He is a member of international and national scientific associations, director of several publishing series, and on the scientific committee of several national and international reviews.
