Biography

Humbert Camerlo is currently consultant to the Opéra National de Paris for new multimedia technologies. Formerly director general of the Opera of Lille, he has also directed numerous works, including Mozart's Marriage of Figaro at the Opéra de Montreal and Verdi's Simon Boccanegra at Montpellier and Geneva.

An enthusiast of architecture, he created a prototype of an ancient open-air theatre, lit solely by moonlight, the "Theatre of the Full Moon", and contributed to the design of the architectural programme of the Seoul Arts Centre and the creation of a 4500-seat temporary concert hall for "Wagner Space" with Peter Rice. He is the author of the CD-Rom "La Fenice, visite virtuelle d'un opéra a Venise", (La Fenice, a virtual visit to the Venice opera) a coproduction by the Opéra de Paris, Radio Classique, Le Monde de la Musique and Index+.
