BiographyJames L. Barksdale, is President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Netscape Communications Corporation, provider of Internet software. From September 1994 he was Chief Executive Officer at AT & T Wireless Services, the leading radio communications company, after its merger with McCaw Cellular Communications. From 1992 until the merger, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of McCaw, a company with a turnover of over two billion dollars in 1993. Before joining McCaw, he was with Federal Express Corporation of Memphis for twelve years. |

| From 1979 to 1983 he was Chief Information Officer, and in 1983 became Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Barksdale was also Director of Bridge Communications, Inc. from April 1986 until its merger with 3Com in 1987. He was also Director of Harrah's Entertainment Corporation, @Home Corporation, and Robert Mondavi Corporation. He has been a member of the board of 3Com since 1987. |  |
