Biography

Ed Zander has been President of Sun Microsystems Computer Company (SMCC), international supplier of client-server solutions, since February 1995. Born in 1946, Zander has held a number of management posts in Sun since 1987, first as Vice-President of Marketing of Sun Microsystems, Inc., then, from 1992 to 1995, as President of SunSoft, supplier of Solaris, the most widely-used UNIX operating system in the world.

Before joining Sun, Zander worked for many years in high technology industries, with management roles in marketing in Apollo Computer, Data General and Raytheon.
