Biography
Chih-Yuan Yang (jerry@yahoo.com; jerry@akebono.stanford.edu) was born in
Taipei in Taiwan in 1968. When he was ten years old he and his family moved to San Jose in
America and he adopted the name Jerry. He graduated in engineering from Stanford
University in Palo Alto, California in 1990. In 1994, while writing his doctoral thesis in
electrical engineering, he and David Filo began compiling a list classifying their
favourite web-sites. What began as a hobby soon became a full-time job and Jerry's Guide
to the World Wide Web, soon to become Jerry and David's Guide to the World Wide Web, was
carefully prepared. |
