Biography
A prominent personality in the international digital community and pioneer of
content-based publishing, Bob Stein (voyager@applelink.apple.com)
has degrees from Columbia and Harvard universities.
He is considered a visionary, someone who is not afraid to do things that the majority
consider absurd, and thus an innovator in the world of communication and multimedia. |

He was a consultant to Atari and to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, before co-founding
the Voyager Company in 1984. Since then, Voyager's catalogue of interactive CD-ROM and
Laserdisc titles has established it as one of the leading multimedia publishers. Voyager,
which takes its name from the spacecraft, has produced laserdiscs of classic and
contemporary films, and in 1987 produced the first interactive computer discs for
Hypercard. In 1988 it produced Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, considered the very
first commercial CD-Rom. |
