BiographyPeter Sommerer is President and Chief Operating Officer of Newbridge Network Corporation. He joined Newbridge in 1987 as Director of Business Development. He has played an important role in the company's growth in the public networking and internetworking markets with the 3624 MainStreet Intelligent T1 Channel Bank and the series of 2600 MainStreet data terminals. |

| A veteran of the telecommunications, Sommerer was head of the German subsidiary of Mitel Corporation and product manager for Mitel SX-200 private branch exchange. He has also worked for ITT in Austria were he spent 10 years as a hardware e software design engineer. Sommerer received a P.Eng. from HTBLuVA in Modling, Austria, and an MBA from the Wirtschraftsuniversitat of Vienna. |  |
