Biography

Born in 1953, Reck (reck@khm.de) is a philosopher, researcher in art and culture, and writer. He studied philosophy, art history and modern German literature at the University di Tubingen. In 1989 he was awarded a PhD in communication design from the University of Wuppertal.

From 1982 to 1995 he taught aesthetics, visual communication, architecture/design, and theoretic and aesthetic perceptions of the new media at the Hohere Schule fur Gestaltung in Basilea.

From 1992 al ’95 he taught the theory of communication at the Hochschule fur angewandte Kunst in Vienna.

Since 1995 he has been professor of art history in the context of the new media at the Kunsthochschule fur Medien (New Media School, http://www.khm.de esci da MediaMente) on Cologne.

Since 1996 he is the editor of the series Medienkultur, Springer Verlag, Wien/New York.
