Biography
Lorenzo Miglioli was born in Bologna in 1960 and studied at the Tassoni scientific
school before studying cultural anthropology in the United States. Returning to Italy he
graduated in sociology (specialising in semiotics) at Urbino University, where he worked
with Umberto Eco for two years at CILS ( the International Centre for Linguistics and
Semiotics).
He lived for some time in London near Hyde Park.
He has created several theatrical works, including "Minimali" with "Taxi
de Moon" and others, which were defined the first experiments in cyber-theatre at the
Polverigi Festival in 1984.
As a journalist he has contributed to Panorama, L'Europeo, il Manifesto, il Mattino di
Napoli, Frigidaire, and The Face, among other publications.
He worked for some time in television for the Italian public broadcaster RAI, and in
radio before becoming a creative producer for the cinema and dedicating himself to
writing. He wrote his first novel, "Hitler Warhol Experience" while also working
on his first hypertext novel, "Ra-dio". After the unexpected success of the
latter, he wrote a pamphlet "Berlusconi è un retro virus".
Miglioli is currently Project Director for the construction of a half realist, half
virtual theme park on the sea at Cattolica on the Romagna coast. |
