Biography
Director of the McLuhan Programme of Culture and Technology and Professor of the French
Department of the University of Toronto.The McLuhan project, like the work of McLuhan
himself, is concerned with how technology influences and will influence society.De
Kerckhove advocates a new form of artistic expression which combines art, engineering and
the new technologies of communication. He is a consultant for the media and cultural
initiatives and participated in the preparation and creation of the Ontario Pavilion at
Expo '92 in Seville and the Canada in Space exhibition at the Canadian Broadcasting
Company. De Kerckhove was recently member of the commission for designing a political
culture for the francophone community in Ontario and the government committee on
telecommunication strategies. |
