Biography
Barry Carbol (bcarbol@oprnschool.bc.ca)
has been a professional educator for over 20 years. During that time he has been a
teacher, school principal and has held a number of senior government positions within the
Alberta and British Columbia ministries of education.
He was awarded his doctorate from the University of Alberta with a thesis on
educational measurement and evaluation and has graduate degrees in administration, and
curriculum and instruction.
During his career in the public sector he has been responsible for provincial
curriculum, program development, assessment, learning resources and education
technology.He has taken part in numerous national and international conventions as an
expert on the implementation of educational technologies in schools.For the past ten years
he has been responsible for British Columbia's policies on technology for schools and for
the development of distance-learning. He has supported and promoted the development and
use of the Community Learning Network (http://www.cln.org
) and has
established British Columbia as a leader of the use of the Internet in schools. |
