Biography
Born in Patti 6 April 1958, Gaetano Benedetto studied Law at the University of Padova.
He is currently Deputy Secretary General of WWF Italia, responsible for Institutional and
Legal Affairs, Territorial Networks and Communications. In October 1992 he was among the
founders of the National Transport Observatory (WWF-Legambiente-Italia Nostra), which is
concerned, among other things, with projects relating to high speed rail transport and the
improvement of the railway system. In February 1986 he was part of the committee promoting
the referendum against hunting and in October 1988 one of the promoters of Verdi
Arcobaleno (Green Rainbow). |

| Regional Secretary of the Radical Party from 1982 to 1983, then member of Federal
Council of the Party from November 1983 to November 1985, he was, until 1990, an official
of the European Federalist Group (Radical Party). He has worked for many broadcasters,
including Radio Radicale, Radio Sherwood (PD), RTB (Radio Televisione Bresciana), Tele
Radio Gamma (PD), l'Emittente Regionale Veneta. He writes for Panda and is on the
editorial committee of the quarterly Attenzione: rivista WWF per l'ambiente e il
territorio. He has also contributed to Verde lex. |
