Biography
Scott Anderson graduated in both semiotics and information technology from Brown
University. He is currently Senior Visual Effects Supervisor at Imageworks, Sony
Pictures Entertainment's special effects division.
Winner of an Academy Award in 1995 for the special effects on Babe, which
received seven Oscar nominations in all, Anderson also worked on Die Hard with a
Vengeance (Kennedy Miller Productions) and directed the special effects on Starship
Troopers, the space saga directed by Paul Verhoeven. Before joining Imageworks, he
worked as a freelance supervisor at Kennedy Miller Productions, Sony Pictures, Xaos and
Skellington Productions, working on films such as The Pagemaster, and Look Who's
Talking Now. |

He began his cinema career at Industrial Light & Magic, Lucas Film's
special effects division, working on cinema, TV and advertising projects. He supervised
and animated key sequences in The Hunt For Red October, Startrek VI, Memoirs of an
Invisible Man, and was an animator and software developer on The Abyss and Terminator,
which won Academy Awards for their special effects in 1989 and 1991 respectively. He also
worked on the TV series The Astronomers for PBS and advertising campaigns
for Diet Coke and Star Tours. He was a member of the research and development group of
Pacific Data Images. |
