Biografia
Nato l'11 luglio 1930, è professore di Discipline Classiche all'Università di Yale, Stati Uniti. Bloom descrive se stesso come gnostico ebreo ed accademico. Considerato uno dei maggiori critici letterari viventi, è autore di numerosi lavori, e attualmente sta lavorando ad un libro su William Shakespeare.
